Waldenburg Castle
Waldenburg is a castle ruin of a hilltop castle above the Enz on the left mountain ridge at the entrance to the municipality of Neuenbürg, a municipality near Pforzheim in the Enz district in Baden-Württemberg.
The history of this castle is largely unknown. Research, excavations and archaeological investigations have so far not been able to solve the mystery surrounding the Waldenburg ruin. There are no written records or evidence; likewise, there are no documents that could provide information about the history of the castle.
Some finds of pottery indicate connections to the Upper Rhine and the Swabian Alb. In 1887, a bronze "dragon chandelier" was found, which is now in the State Museum of Württemberg in Stuttgart.
