Wasserburg Castle
Honstetten Castle is the ruin of a hilltop castle on a small 630 m above sea level high conical hill 1500 meters southwest of Honstetten, a district of the municipality of Eigeltingen in the Konstanz district in Baden-Württemberg. It is not to be confused with the nearby Bittelbrunn Castle.
The castle was built at the end of the 12th century by the Lords of Wasserburg, mentioned in 1174 and destroyed in 1441 during the Cities' War (defended by Clarana von Reischach, the wife of Veit von Asch, with six men). From the former castle complex on a castle plateau of approximately 36 by 18 meters, 2.5 meter high remains of the keep are still preserved.
