Werdeck Castle
The castle ruin Werdeck is the remnant of a spur castle on a 416 m above sea level high spur peak above a northern loop of the Brettach, about one kilometer west-northwest of the Werdeck farmstead in the municipality of Rot am See in the district of Schwäbisch Hall in Baden-Württemberg.
The castle was built in the 13th century and mentioned in 1220. In the 16th century, the castle fell into disrepair and was destroyed in 1797. Former owners of the castle were the Counts of Lobenhausen and the Lords of Hohenlohe.
Presumably, it was a tower castle with a vaulted cellar, partly surrounded by a circular rampart. The neck ditch and the shield wall are still preserved.
