The castle ruin of Werdeck is the remnant of a spur castle, rising on an elevation above a bend in the Brettach river.

History+

The origins of Werdeck Castle date back to the 13th century, with its first documented mention occurring as early as 1220. The castle was owned by notable noble families, including the Counts of Lobenhausen and the Lords of Hohenlohe. The decline of the complex began in the 16th century, ultimately leading to its destruction in 1797.

The Werdeck ruin is situated on a spur peak at an elevation of approximately 416 meters above sea level.
