The remains of the castle can be visited

Wessenstein Castle was built in the 13th century. It first appears in a document in 1245, when a vassal of the Wildoners, Wulfing, named himself after "Wefssensteine". The discovery of a 13th-century gold coin also testifies to the castle's great age.
