Wielandstein Castle

Around the year 1150, the first parts of the castle group, namely Alt-Wielandstein and Hinterer Wielandstein, were built. From 1240 onwards, the Lords of Wielandstein emerged, serving as knightly vassals of the Dukes of Teck. Around 1330, they abandoned the castle. In 1386, the complex came into the possession of the Württemberg counts. In 1478, it was transferred to the noble Schilling family as free property, although by this time large parts were already uninhabitable and decay was progressing. During the Peasants' War in 1525, the castle suffered its complete destruction.
