The remains of the Castle can be visited

The Wolfartsweier Castle Ruin, once a hilltop castle, is situated in the Wolfartsweier Forest near Karlsruhe. Although only minor remnants are visible today, this site has a history dating back to the 15th century and possibly even having Roman roots.

History+

In the 15th century, the castle was last mentioned in documents when Knight Bleich von Waldeck, a vassal of the Margrave of Baden, was named as its owner. It is presumed that a Roman watchtower originally stood on this site, indicating an even older use of the location. Until 1973, parts of the masonry and the foundations of the core castle, as well as a moat, were still preserved.
