The Castel San Pietro stands on the hill of San Pietro in Verona. In Roman times, here was a temple and a Roman theater. 890 the castle was owned by Berengar I. In 1393 was the castle under Gian Galeazzo Visconti new built. 1627, the castle was restored. 1801 Napoleon destroyed the castle. Between 1852 and 1858, the castle was built as a Austrian barracks under Field Marshal Radetzky again.
