Castello di Andraz (Buchenstein)
The Andraz castle was built around 1027 to protect the "iron road". The first owners of the castle was the family of Buchenstein. 1091 received the Bishopric of Brixen from the Emperor Heinrich IV. the rule Buchenstein. By 1200, sold the Lords of Buchenstein the castle to the Bishops of Brixen. 1432 Andraz was rebuilt. In 1755 the bishopric of Brixen closed the iron mines. By secularization Buchenstein fell to Austria in 1803. 1810 Buchenstein fell to the Kingdom of Italy. 1813 was the possession of the association with Tyrol in Austria. Until the First World War the area was part of Tyrol.
