Castello di Thiene

To be privately owned

The Castello di Thiene (also palace (Villa) Porto Colleoni Thiene) was built in the 15th Century by Francesco Porto (one of the richest men of Vicenza at the time). In the 16th Century have been extended to two other floors of the building. The two different phases are visible in the wings - while the windows on the first floor are Gothic, are the windows of the second floor of the Renaissance. The castle remained until 1816 in the possession of Porto family. Thereafter, the property transferred to the Colleoni family, in whose possession it remained until 1918. These bequeathed the castle to the family Thiene, who are the current owners of the castle.
