The origins of the Castello Savelli Torlonia date back to the 9th century, when its oldest part, the tower, was built. The castle underwent numerous changes and expansions. Preserved inside are 16th-century frescoes, which are considered works of the Raphael school.
The castle is located in Palombara Sabina, a municipality in the province of Rome, in the Lazio region of Italy. It stands at an elevation of approximately 378 meters above sea level.
Today, the Castello Savelli Torlonia houses a natural history museum. The frescoes are also accessible.
