The Castle can be visited



The Castello scaligero di Villafranca di Verona was built from 1199 - 1202 after the Battle of Ponti dei Molini (Mantova). From 1450, the castle was uninhabited. Centuries later bought A. Alessandri o. G.B. Simeoni (Count of Villafranca) the castle. 1882 bought the town of Villafranca the castle and the established a prison. 1890, the main tower of the castle was restored.
