Château des Jamonières

The estate's origins span over 500 years. In the 15th century, it was owned by the de Laval family, then passed to Jehan de Craon and later to Gilles de Rais, before returning to the Le Ferron family. In the early 18th century, it came into the possession of the Juchault family through marriage. After the French Revolution, it belonged to Louis Marie Juchault des Jamonières. In 1881, Arthur Antonin Juchault, Baron des Jamonières, had the current castle built, as the original structure had been destroyed during the Revolution. A year later, the shipowner Fernand Crouan acquired the estate. It remained with the Crouan family for a long time and later passed to the Padiou family. In 2020, Olivier Marais purchased it and transformed it into a hotel, renaming it Château des Marais.

The castle is located in Saint-Philbert-de-Grand-Lieu, in the Loire-Atlantique department of the Pays de la Loire region, France. It stands at an elevation of approximately 24 meters above sea level.

Today, the Château des Jamonières operates as a hotel. It also features its own vineyard and an art gallery. Regional products are also offered.
