Castle Rushen
In Castletown on the Isle of Man, Castle Rushen rises, one of Europe's best-preserved medieval castles. Its appearance shapes the townscape at the market square and along the Silverburn River.

The origins of Castle Rushen date back to the 13th century, when the Isle of Man was still under Norwegian rule. Around 1990, extensive renovations were carried out, after which the castle was designated as a significant cultural heritage site of the island, a Manx National Heritage Site.
