Castle Stalker
A striking water castle, Castle Stalker, rises on a small rocky island in Loch Laich, an inlet of Loch Linnhe, in the Scottish Highlands.
History+
The origins of Castle Stalker date back to around 1320, when the Clan MacDougall began its construction. Around 1440, under the rule of the Stewarts, an expansion took place, giving the castle its current form as a four-story tower house. After changing owners, the building fell into disrepair from about 1840, when the Campbells left it. A restoration occurred in 1965 after the estate was acquired by Stewart Allward.
