The Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Strasbourg, also known as Strasbourg Cathedral, is a prominent sacred building in the French city of Strasbourg. Known for its impressive architecture, it is one of the largest sandstone structures in the world and a landmark of Alsace.

The history of Strasbourg Cathedral is marked by several predecessor buildings. A temple stood on the site of the current cathedral in antiquity, later replaced by a Christian sanctuary. After fires in 1007 and 1176, construction of the current cathedral began in 1176. Initially built in the Romanesque style, it was later expanded in the Gothic style. From 1647 to 1874, the 142-meter-high north tower was considered the tallest building in the world.
