The church can be visited

In Narbonne, the Cathedral Saint-Just-et-Saint-Pasteur, a former Roman Catholic cathedral, stands as an unfinished Gothic masterpiece with its choir. With a choir height of 41 meters, it is among the tallest church buildings in France and has been classified as a Monument historique since 1840.

History+

Construction of the cathedral began in 1272. Until the 18th century, Narbonne was an archiepiscopal see. Through the Concordat of 1801, the city lost this status, and the cathedral was assigned to the Diocese of Carcassonne, where it received the rank of a co-cathedral. Only the choir of the structure was completed and still serves as the church space today.

Location+

The cathedral is located in the city of Narbonne in the Aude department in the Occitanie region, France, at an elevation of approximately 19 meters above sea level.
