Château Aigle, also known as Eagle Castle, is a castle in the Canton of Vaud, Switzerland. Its rectangular shape and towers give it a distinctive appearance.

History+

The origins of Château Aigle date back to the 11th century when an initial fortification was built. The castle underwent expansions during the 13th century. However, it largely acquired its current form after its conquest by the Bernese in 1475. The rectangular complex features a curtain wall with three corner towers, whose roofs are conical. A keep, surrounded by freestanding outbuildings, occupies the fourth corner.
