Château Camensac is a wine estate in the Bordeaux region of France. It was classified as a Cinquième Grand Cru Classé in 1855.

History+

The early history of the estate is only partially known. It was originally owned by the Popp family, who had English roots and held the property at the time of the Bordeaux classification in 1855. Until 1913, it belonged to the Tournade family before being sold to the wine merchant Paul Cuvelier. In 1964, the brothers Enrique and Elysée Forner took over the run-down estate. The Forner family, who had to leave their homeland during the Spanish Civil War, fundamentally rebuilt the property and replanted the vineyards. From the outset, they collaborated with the oenologist Émile Peynaud.
