Château d'Aigremont

To be privately owned

Château d'Aigremont is located in the village Awirs in the community Flémalle.

Aigremont was first mentioned in the year 900. In the Middle Ages it was a great attachment and also served as a refuge for many opponents of the Prince Bishops of Liege, such as William I of the Mark in 1468. Archdeacon Mathias Clercx acquired the estate of the family of Mark and was built in 1717-1727 the today existing classicist castle.
