History+
The construction of Château d'Ansembourg took place between 1639 and 1647, initiated by the ironmaster Thomas Bidart. In the 18th century, the complex was expanded by his descendant Lambert-Joseph de Marchant. To distinguish it from the older castle complex located on a mountain above, the château is often referred to as the “New Château d'Ansembourg.” Both structures are part of the “Valley of the Seven Castles.”
