Château d'Arthies

The origins of the Château d'Arthies date back to the first half of the 15th century, when it was built on the foundations of an older castle. The Théméricourt family, who owned the seigneury in the 14th and 15th centuries, had a new building constructed around 1430. At the end of the 15th century, the property was sold to Bertin de Silly, King Louis XI's Maître d'hôtel. It was he who significantly redesigned and expanded the complex at the end of the 15th or beginning of the 16th century, giving it its present form. Until the end of the Ancien Régime, the Château served as the administrative seat of the Silly family. In the 20th century, in the 1950s and 1980s, extensive restoration work was carried out under the White family.

The Château d'Arthies is located in the commune of Arthies in the French department of Val-d’Oise, which belongs to the Île-de-France region. It is situated at an elevation of approximately 179 meters above sea level.

The Château d'Arthies is currently privately owned. It is listed as a Monument historique and bears witness to its rich past.
