Château d'Hespérange
The Château d'Hespérange, a castle ruin, is in the village of Hesperange in southern Luxembourg. Its origins date back to the early 13th century.
History+
The history of Château d'Hespérange likely began in the early 13th century, when it was owned by the Lords of Rodenmacher. In 1480 and 1482, the castle suffered damage during the conflicts between Gerard of Rodenmacher and Maximilian of Austria, but was subsequently rebuilt. In 1492, ownership of the complex passed to the Lords of Baden. At the end of the 18th century, in 1792, the castle was captured by French troops, nationalized, and finally sold in 1798.

The castle ruin is located in Hesperange, a commune in the canton of Luxembourg, in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. It lies at an elevation of approximately 271 meters above sea level.
