History+
The origins of the Château de Banne date back to the 12th century, when the castle was built. It served as a stronghold until it fell victim to a fire in 1792. Parts of the complex were later reconstructed.

The castle ruin is located in the commune of Banne in the Ardèche department, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. It stands at an elevation of approximately 282 meters above sea level.

Visitors can explore the ruins of the castle as well as remnants of the old fortress wall. Following reconstruction work, a part of the terraces and the vaulted sandstone stables have been restored and are accessible.
