Château de Beaumarchais
The Château de Beaumarchais is a Renaissance château located in Brétignolles-sur-Mer, in the Vendée department of the Pays de la Loire region in western France (at the place known as Beaumarchais-le-Logis).
It was built in the 16th century by Vincent Bouhier de L’Ecluse on the foundations of an earlier castle dating from the beginning of the same century. The building was remodelled at the beginning of the 19th century.
The façades and roofs of the château, together with the fireplace on the ground floor in the west salon, have been listed as a Monument historique since 27 June 1962.
Today the château is a private property belonging to the Robet-Bascher family and is not open to the public.
