To be privately owned

The New Betzdorf Castle, an imposing structure in eastern Luxembourg, is a testament to a varied history and modern use. Once a royal residence, it now houses a leading technology company, thus combining historical elegance with forward-looking innovation.

History+

Betzdorf Castle served as the residence of the Hereditary Grand Ducal family from April 1953 to November 1964. During this period, all children of the later Grand Duke Jean were born here: Princess Marie-Astrid (1954), Grand Duke Henri (1955), Prince Jean and Princess Margaretha (1957), and Prince Guillaume (1963). After the family moved to Berg Castle, the estate was used as a nursing home from 1964 to 1982. In July 1982, the castle hosted an international scout camp with 1200 participants, after which it stood empty for several years. In 1986, the satellite operator SES-Astra acquired the castle from the state and carried out extensive renovations.

Betzdorf Castle is located in the municipality of Betzdorf in the Grevenmacher district, in the Grevenmacher region of Luxembourg. It lies at an altitude of approximately 279 meters above sea level.
