Château de Blonay

The construction of Château de Blonay took place in 1175 under William II of Blonay, a ministerialis of the House of Savoy. Since its foundation, the castle has been inhabited by the Blonay family, with a brief interruption in the 18th century. The oldest surviving part is the square keep from the founding period, which was later heightened and integrated into a cluster of buildings arranged around a courtyard. Originally, the castle, with its irregular square layout, had four corner towers, two of which still exist today.
