The Château de Castelbouc is a castle ruin situated on an exposed rock in the Gorges du Tarn. Located in the French commune of Sainte-Enimie in the Lozère department, it stands over the village of Castelbouc and the river.

History+

The first documented mention of the castle dates back to the 12th century, when it was owned by Etienne de Castelbouc, a vassal of Elie de Montbrun, commander of the Knights Templar in Larzac. In the late 16th century, specifically in 1592, the castle was razed.
