Château de Cénevières

The origins of the Château de Cénevières date back to the 13th century. The castle underwent alterations, particularly in the 14th, 15th, and 16th centuries, which shaped its current appearance. Tradition holds that the castle once belonged to Duke Waïffe of Aquitaine and played a role in his conflicts with Pepin the Short. In 1585, a square building, known as the guard tower or postern, was erected in front of the entrance.

The castle is located in Cénevières, in the Lot department of the Occitanie region, France, at an altitude of approximately 153 meters above sea level. It is built on a rock and appears as a collection of irregular buildings, flanked by towers and terraces.
