The Château de Chareil-Cintrat, also known as the Château du Bas-Chareil, is a late medieval castle in France. It is located near Chareil-Cintrat in the Allier department.
History+
The origins of the castle date back to the late Middle Ages, when it was built by the Chareil family. In the early 16th century, Claude Morin, a controller of wars, resided on the estate. He commissioned the Renaissance decorations inside after returning from the Italian Wars. During the French Revolution, the castle was sold by the revolutionary regime. On October 10, 1958, the French state acquired the building, which was classified as a Monument historique in the same year.
