Château de Clervaux
In northern Luxembourg stands the Château de Clervaux. Its history dates back to the 12th century.
History+
The castle's origins lie in the 12th century, when Gerard Count of Sponheim, a brother of the Count of Vianden, initiated its construction. Around 1400, the Lords of Brandenbourg expanded the complex by adding the large palace and the rounded towers. In 1634, Claude of Lannoy further shaped its appearance by having the reception halls, including the grand knight's hall, designed in the Spanish style.

The Château de Clervaux is located in the town of Clervaux, in the district of Clervaux in the Diekirch region, Luxembourg. It is situated at an elevation of approximately 375 meters above sea level.
