History+
The origins of Château de Corcelles date back to the 11th century. In the 15th century, the complex was rebuilt after being destroyed by the Burgundians in 1432. Around 1470, Jean de Laye began constructing a large square tower, two round towers, and a section of wall. After his daughters died without descendants, the estate passed to Girard de la Magdeleine-Ragny in 1522. In 1592, Captain Lazare Tircuy de La Barre acquired the castle, financed by a ransom. The Tircuy family owned the Château until the French Revolution, when the then-owners were imprisoned and the estate later divided. Since 1927, the Château has been partially protected as a historical monument. In 1984, the Richard family took ownership of the estate and operates a winery there.
