History+

The origins of the Château de Cordès date back to 1268, when the castle was owned by Guillaume de Chalus. For nearly four centuries, the estate remained in the hands of this family. In 1659, ownership transferred to Emmanuel d’Alègre. His son, Yves d’Alègre, who later became a Marshal of France, shaped the château's current appearance. Under his patronage, the buildings were renovated and expanded into the château.
