Château de Fischbach

To be privately owned

The Château de Fischbach is a castle in Luxembourg.

History+

The origins of the estate date back to 1050, when it was owned by Echternach Abbey. In 1635, the castle suffered severe damage during the Thirty Years' War but was subsequently rebuilt. In the 19th century, ownership changed hands several times: Auguste Garnier first acquired the property, before it was purchased by Grand Duke William II in 1847. In 1884, it passed into the possession of Count Adolph of Nassau. During World War II, under German occupation, the castle served as a retreat for artists.
