Château de la Gaubertie

The site of the current Château de la Gaubertie was initially home to a fortified house known as La Borie, owned by the Lords of Clermont. Towards the end of the 15th century, the Gaubertie castle was constructed on this spot. During the Wars of Religion, the structure sustained damage and underwent extensive restoration in the 17th century, which included the addition of a chapel. Further renovations to the interiors and outbuildings took place in the late 19th century. Figures such as the philosopher Maine de Biran and Charles de Foucauld in 1913 visited the castle.
