The Château de La Grillonnais (also referred to as ancien logis de La Grillonnais) is located in the town center of Basse-Goulaine (Département Loire-Atlantique, Pays de la Loire region), south of the Loire and near Nantes. It is a former stately residence that successively belonged to the d’Espinose, Guilloré de Kerrobert (who have their tomb in the chapel), and de Laurencie families (allied with the Rousselot de Saint-Céran). Architectural details are sparsely documented; it is described as a castle-like logis. It is not protected as a Monument Historique. The associated park (about three hectares) was acquired by the municipality in 2007 and is now publicly accessible; the modern town hall (hôtel de ville), built in 2012, is located within it. The building itself was temporarily associated with a center for people with motor impairments (IEM La Grillonnais).
