History+

Although the castle and its lords were first documented in the 11th century, the oldest surviving parts date back to the 13th century. The complex was expanded until the end of the Renaissance. The fiefdom of Langoiran was a significant possession within the Duchy of Aquitaine and played a role in the conflicts between English and French monarchs.
