The Château de Larressingle is a castle ruin located in the Gers department in the Occitanie region, France.
History+
The origins of the Château de Larressingle date back to the second half of the 13th century, when construction of the castle began. Between 1285 and 1305, the structure underwent expansion under the patronage of Arnaud Orthon de Lomagne, Bishop of Condom, with the addition of the second and third floors. Further alterations were made in the 15th and 16th centuries, including the installation of windows. Works carried out between 1521 and 1545, when additional construction, including the erection of a hexagonal tower, was undertaken for Monseigneur de Grossolles. Since 1922, the ruin has been protected as a monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture.
