Château de Larroque-Toirac

The history of the Château de Larroque-Toirac began in the 13th century with the construction of a fortified site. In the 14th century, this was supplemented by an enceinte. A reconstruction of the castle took place in the second half of the 15th century. The structure underwent various modifications until the late 17th century. Notable are the preserved decorations from around 1515 to 1531, as well as further work from the 17th century. The residence still houses the original kitchen, 15th-century chimneys, and 16th-century frescoes. The cliffs behind the castle once contained caves that served as troglodytic habitations in ancient times.
