A predecessor building, known as the Château de Bois-Malesherbes, was acquired in 1398 by Jean de Montagu, who served as superintendent of finances for King Charles VI at that time.
The Château de Malesherbes is situated in the commune of Malesherbes in the Loiret department. It stands at an elevation of approximately 108 meters above sea level.
