In Mamer, a town in southwestern Luxembourg, stands the Château de Mamer. Its history dates back to the 10th century, and it now serves as the town hall.

History+

The origins of the Château de Mamer lie in a castle built as early as the 10th century. During the French Revolutionary Wars, the property suffered damage and was confiscated by occupying forces. In 1798, it was sold to Thierry de Bastogne. On the foundations of the previous structure, Police Chief Frederic François had a new castle built around 1830. Ownership transferred to Jacques Fischer and Julie Kremer in 1934. Finally, the municipality acquired the estate in 1955, renovated it, and established the current town hall there.
