The Château de Nemours is in the eponymous town in France. Its location on the Loing River and near an old bridge once made it a defensive structure and guardian of the river crossing.

History+

Construction of the Château de Nemours began in the 12th century. In the last third of that century, Gaulthier I of Nemours commissioned the castle's construction as part of a new urban development. This complex also included a monastery with the church of St-Jean-Baptiste. The complex underwent renovations in the 15th and 17th centuries. In 1926, the castle was recognized as a historical monument and added to the list of French architectural heritage sites.
