Château de Pierregourde
The Château de Pierregourde is a castle ruin in the commune of Gilhac-et-Bruzac in the Ardèche department, in the French region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
History+
The origins of the Château de Pierregourde date back to the 13th century, when the castle was built. However, its existence came to an abrupt end in 1630. By order of Cardinal Richelieu, the fortress was destroyed in that year, sealing its fate as a ruin.

Today, the ruins of the Château de Pierregourde are accessible to visitors and can be explored. From the site, visitors can enjoy views over the surrounding landscape, including the Vercors, Mont Ventoux, the Trois Becs, and the valleys of the Eyrieux and the Rhône.
