In the Vaud municipality of Rolle, directly on the shores of Lake Geneva, stands the Château de Rolle. It is a testament to medieval architecture in Switzerland.

The castle's origins date back to 1264, when it was constructed by the Counts of Savoy. The Château de Rolle suffered damage, being burned down by the Confederates in 1530 and again in 1536. The castle's current appearance is shaped by renovations and new constructions undertaken in the 15th and 16th centuries.
