The Château de Saint-Ulrich is a castle ruin situated above the Strengbach Valley near Ribeauvillé in the French Upper Rhine region. As a rock castle, it stands out for its location and well-preserved Romanesque elements.

History+

The castle's origins date back to the 11th century, with the square keep being built at the beginning of the 12th century. Around 1200, the residential tower was constructed, and the knight's hall, whose Romanesque twin windows can still be seen today, was completed in 1230. The entire complex was finished in 1289 and first mentioned in a document in 1298.
