The Château de Stolzembourg, a picturesque castle, is perched on a hill in the middle of the village of the same name in northeastern Luxembourg. Its history dates back to the 12th century, making it a remarkable testament to past eras in the region.
History+
The origins of the estate can be traced back to the 12th century, when a tower was already mentioned on this site. The first documented mention as a castle occurred in 1315. In 1454, ownership transferred to Governor Antoine de Croÿ. Tragically, the castle was destroyed in 1679 by French troops under the command of Louis XIV. The current castle building was only constructed in 1898 on the foundations of the former castle and presents itself in the style of a Scottish country house.
