Château de Termes

The ruin of the Château de Termes, a medieval hilltop castle, is located in the Aude department in the Occitanie region of France. It is an example of the military architecture of the Cathar castles.
History+
The castle of Termes is mentioned as early as the mid-12th century and by the end of the century offered refuge to numerous Cathars who had settled in a fortified village at the foot of the complex. In 1210, the castle was besieged during the Albigensian Crusade.
