Château de Touffou

The origins of the castle date back to the 12th century, when the eastern part of the medieval wing was built. The western part was added in the early 15th century and preserves Romanesque and Gothic elements, including a keep. In the 16th century, the Château underwent an expansion under the Chasteigner family with the addition of the Renaissance wing. This era marked a shift from a purely defensive structure to a noble residence. The castle has always been privately owned and passed through the hands of various families, including the Oger, Montléon, and Chasteigner families. Since 1966, it has been owned by the Ogilvy family.
