The Château du Coudray-Salbart, a 13th-century castle ruin, is located in the French region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Its architecture is remarkable, having remained unaltered.
History+
The origins of the Château du Coudray-Salbart date back to the 13th century. Between 1978 and 2003, volunteers from the REMPART organization were involved in preserving the site. Since 2000, the castle has been owned by the Communauté d'Agglomération de Niort. From 2005 onwards, restoration work was continued by professional teams.
Location+
The castle ruin is situated in the commune of Échiré in the Deux-Sèvres department, within the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. It is located at an elevation of approximately 50 meters above sea level.
