Château Kirwan

The origins of the estate date back to the 17th century, when it was a noble estate named Lasalle. In the early 18th century, British wine merchant John Collingwood acquired the property. Through his daughter's marriage to the Irishman Mark Kirwan, the estate received its current name in 1775. Later US President Thomas Jefferson visited Château Kirwan and rated it as a second-category estate. After several changes of ownership, it was acquired in 1925 by the company Schröder and Schÿler, whose descendants still hold shares and manage the estate. Since the 1990s, investments have been made in the wine cellar, and oenologists have been consulted.
