History+

The origins of the estate can be traced back to the 12th century, when a fortified house stood on this site. Viticulture in the region was highly regarded as early as the 7th century. The current castle was built in the 15th century by Pierre de Massault and was owned by several families, but gradually fell into disrepair. In 1980, Alain-Dominique Perrin, the former president of Cartier SA, acquired the ruin and initiated a restoration. Since October 21, 1982, the Château has been listed as a historical monument (Monument historique).
